Looking up to see a bit of something like surprise on Obi-Wan's face makes her feel a little better. It's not a contest, but I think most would agree Vanya had been treated the most unfairly. She wasn't the only one ostracized and/or locked below ground level, but she was suppressed and lied to. Broken down to nothing and released into the world like she didn't matter. Even when she studied herself into low-key national acclaim and the New York Philharmonic, nothing mattered. None of them did. Even if he could say different, Vanya doubts he would.

She considers Obi-Wan's question. Now that she thinks of it, she's exhausted. It's been several hours that she's been in this self-study and sometimes her powers take a lot out of her. She wants to sit and recalibrate, but the walk back to the city will take a little while. Now that she has calm, gentle, familiar-adjacent company, Vanya is suddenly aware that she doesn't want to be alone, either.

"Yeah, that would be nice. Thank you," she says, quiet and gentle. She doesn't want to tell him more, but she thinks maybe she has to. Already she feels like she's gone on about herself and it makes her feel self-conscious. Maybe if she learns a little bit more about Obi-Wan, she won't feel so much like he wants something from her.

"You said 'Earth expression' earlier," Vanya recalls as they start walking. "Where are you from?"
