Pieces of this sound familiar. Without knowing why, she thinks of Diego. Maybe she misses him. His is also the only other energy-manipulating power. If anything is possible within time and space (which it clearly is), the life he's describing could have been theirs.

Maybe Obi-Wan is right: maybe Reginald would have taken them by force if any of their parents had refused to part with them. She doubts it. There are only rumors about exactly how much Reginald Hargreeves paid for his army of superpowered children; each number is staggering. Vanya thinks that, to a young girl that didn't start the day pregnant or planning for a child, the price to sell wouldn't have to be staggering at all.

The Jedi find them snags her mind, too. How? How did Reginald find them? Vanya assumed he'd beat every newspaper around the world and gathered as many as he could. What would that search look like if there was a whole organization?

"I'm sorry," Vanya says of her silence after a few seconds of it. "There's so much I want to know. Then, when I try to ask, I can't think of anything." Maybe she's exhausted. Overwhelmed. Confused. Hopeful. Whatever she is, she is in entirely over her head.
