It occurs to Viktor that Oliver may not want to go through this. He is a lovely man, smart and gentle, generally polite. And Elio's boyfriend. For all the time they've spent together, for all that Viktor does think they would have been friends even without Elio's intervention, he didn't ask for this.
"It's on me," Viktor promises, still unable to shake that faint smile. He holds the door open for Oliver and follows along.
"I forget you're from another time," he continues pleasantly. "Not that it's easy to be who you are anywhere. Anywhen."
